⚠️ Google's March OS update broke Pixel detection for all 3rd party apps. Meet your new Universal Tracker, your music history lives on! ⚠️
Upgrading to a new Google Pixel? By default, Google does not transfer your native 'Now Playing' music history to your new device. If you don't manually back it up, years of your ambient music memories and discovered tracks will be permanently deleted.
Thankfully, the Now Playing History companion app makes securing and transferring your database effortless.
Here is how to safely move your music history:
Open the Now Playing History app on your old Pixel.
Navigate to Settings and tap on Backup and restore.
Tap Backup now to instantly save your entire database to a local file, or toggle on Automatic Backups for daily peace of mind.
Move that saved backup file to your new Pixel via Google Drive or Quick Share.
Install the app on your new phone, return to this menu, and tap Restore backup to instantly bring your entire musical diary back to life.
Stop letting your music memories fade when you upgrade your hardware. Download Now Playing History on Google Play today and take full ownership of your data.
